Punk, Hip Hop, zines and skateboard culture, are all major influences in Fred Thomas's art. Over Fred's twenty years of being a graffiti artist, he has developed a fascination with weather beaten surfaces and neglected space. Often shares his art with a public audience in an unsuspecting place, outside the gallery setting, drawing attention to forgotten objects. Fred attended the Vancouver Film School studying classical animation. Thomas has worked for many years at the Graffiti Gallery painting murals and working with at-risk youth. Fred is currently finishing a series of educational animated videos.
